What is Barnum?
Barnum tells the extraordinary true story of Phineas Taylor Barnum, the legendary 19th-century entrepreneur and showman who created “The Greatest Show on Earth.” With music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Michael Stewart, and book by Mark Bramble, the musical features classic show tunes including Come Follow the Band, The Colours of My Life, and Join the Circus.
The show first made theatrical history when Michael Crawford performed a death-defying nightly tightrope walk at the London Palladium in 1981. Now, Lee Mead and Matt Rawle recreate this iconic moment in venues across the UK.
