“YOU SIMPLY. MUST. GO” — Glamour
Make your Christmas “fetch” this year! The WhatsOnStage Award winner for Best New Musical, Mean Girls, takes over The Alexandra for a massive festive residency starting 14 December.
Direct from the West End, this “hilarious smash-hit” (Time Out) comes from the comic genius of Tina Fey. Bringing the iconic 2004 film to the stage with a high-octane pop score, this production is the ultimate holiday treat for Birmingham audiences.
Festive Star Casting
The Birmingham run is set to star Steps icon and West End favourite Faye Tozer in a brilliant triple-role as Ms Heron, Ms Norbury, and the “cool mom” herself, Mrs George.
- Award-Winning Team: With music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde), the show is a masterclass in modern musical comedy.
- Savage & Sharp: Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon), expect razor-sharp wit and show-stopping choreography that rules the school.
- A Holiday Highlight: With evening and matinee performances across the Christmas period, it’s the perfect alternative to the traditional panto for fans of the “Plastics.”
Mean Girls – Congress Theatre Eastbourne | Review
By John Groves / April 22, 2026
The West End production of Mean Girls, which ran for a year at the Savoy Theatre in 2024, is currently touring and is very impressive. Three things cause me to write this: firstly, the choreography and slickness of the production win top marks, for which Casey Nicholaw must take much credit, as well as the dance captain, Jenny Huxley-Golden. The whole ensemble of twenty-four demonstrates terrific skill and energy on stage. All movement is precise, often imaginative, and inspiring to watch. In addition, everyone appears to be enjoying themselves!
