“A bold, modern reimagining of the thriller that defined a generation.“
The 90s psychological classic that made us all fear a stiletto heel is coming to the stage. The Alexandra hosts the world premiere tour of Single White Female this May, starring TV favourites Kym Marsh and Lisa Faulkner.
Based on the best-selling novel SWF Seeks Same and the iconic 1992 film, this new stage adaptation invites us into a world where trust is fragile and friendships are tested. When Allie (Faulkner) seeks a roommate after a messy breakup, she finds Hedy (Marsh)—but soon discovers that “seeking same” takes on a terrifying new meaning.
Star Casting for Birmingham
The production is anchored by two powerhouse leading ladies who bring immense energy to this psychological cat-and-mouse game.
- Lisa Faulkner: Known for Holby City and Murder In Suburbia, Faulkner is “convincing and relatable” as Allie, the woman fighting to reclaim her life.
- Kym Marsh: Fresh from Coronation Street and Waterloo Road, Marsh imbues the role of Hedy with “electric energy,” capturing the strange and obsessive behaviour patterns that made the original story famous.
- Atmospheric Production: With sound design by Max Pappenheim and lighting by Jason Taylor, the show uses technical precision to build a sense of lurking menace behind every closed door.
Note: Expect high-octane fight scenes and a production that leans into the psychological “erotic thriller” roots of the 90s original.
